Simply stunning - the beet and brie appetizer was one of the prettiest appetizers in recent memory at a restaurant. The outdoor seating area with stringed lights was so romantic, as was the inside of the restaurant with its brass light fixtures. This was our first time eating at Ember & Oak, but it definitely will not be our last. We will not visit again and cannot recommend your establishment to any of our friends or colleagues. We are retired and can afford what we like. We visit several restaurants a month mostly upscale. For that we got so-so food with inconsistent service.

Together we spent almost $700 for 4 people. My wife ordered cappuccino which was lukewarm and delivered without a spoon and without sweetener and again dropped at the table as the server scurried away in a hurry. I think they may have made it from scratch because it took over 30 minutes to get it. The mixture of 2 meats were not mixed well one forkful tasted ok the other blah. The stuffed bone? I did not like the taste or lack thereof. He will finish cooking the left overs at home It was thick and under cooked in the center but ok. Our friend ordered the 50oz porter house and 10 minutes later we were informed you did not have any! We were early at 630 and only 2 other tables had people and you were out? The mashed potatoes were watery and the pop overs were terrible. It’s more than just a chunk of meat on a plate. Go to the Chart House, Cuizine or River Rocks and taste a real prime rib. Not even a hint of thyme, rosemary or onion. The taste was BLAND, nothing, no seasoning just meat. We sent it back and another more acceptable piece was delivered. The piece we were served was gray through and through. Prime rib was ordered medium rare warm pink center. The bruschetta bread was thin, very hard and difficult to cut and no flavor. The taste was just ok two item were good the others I would not order again. we were at a bar quickly and without any thought. The first one did not have a serving spoon which we had to ask for it and the others as well. They came out one at a time 5 (or more) minutes apart. This restaurant is pricey but you get what you pay for which for us was good service and wonderful food. For dessert we ordered the peanut butter pie and the black forest bomb. We ordered the amazing mac-n-cheese topped with crispy shallot gremolata and oxtail w/mushrooms and the oxtail short rib stuffed bone marrow. I had the Aged Ribeye Delmonico and mine was also great. My husband ordered the Chateaubriand which he thought was cooked to perfection. The caesar salad can feed up to 3 people (delicious).

The Pork Belly and Scallops was a delicious starter and could be ordered as a meal (there was enough for 2). We received a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate our anniversary which was a nice and welcomed touch. We loved the menu presentation which you read from your phone by scanning the QR code on the table. Maybe the restaurant can take these details in account when seating patrons (anniversary might mean more intimate seating). Seating proximity was too close for comfort and noisy with conversations happening three feet from us on either side.
